( quote via Tradition in Action )
In an attempt to capitalize on the general economic dissatisfaction, Pope Benedict XVI launched his Encyclical Caritas in veritate in 2009, telling the nations to abandon Capitalism and unite under a global socialist government. In case this appeal were disregarded, the pontifical document encouraged class struggle against the capitalist establishment.
On October 24 the Vatican was the first international authority to send a message of encouragement to OM. In it, the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace echoed Benedict’s encyclical, asking once again for the end of Capitalism and for a “central world bank” to regulate international finances in order to establish a global “common brotherhood.”
Along the same lines, representatives of the Catholic Church in America are doing whatever they can to sabotage the bank system. For example, in its article “Faithful take money out of big banks to protest corporate greed,” National Catholic Reporter lists several Catholic institutions in Northern California that are exiting the bank system to invest in small communitarian economic cells. (NCR, October 28, 2011, p. 9)
The entire progressivist wing of the Catholic Church is eager to support OM as much as it can. Once again, the OM’s inspirer so far has not shown the ability to take advantage of this enormous potential.
